v1.1.0 & Beyond
The frontend is built in NextJS, a bleeding edge new technology capable of client and server side rendering. This flexibility allows us to choose the best pattern for each flow.
The backend is using Pocketbase, a simple yet powerful and flexible backend SDK.
Making the right decision on which tech to use gave us the tools needed to have a functioning demo ready in 3 weeks. This was key for fundraising.
The product is still evolving as new requirements show up, and others are refined. The chosen tech stack has proven to be flexible, scalable and fast for development, without incurring technical debt to keep up to speed.
Other solutions like Wordpress were evaluated given the wide variety of templates and plugins available, which enhances the initial development speed. The team decided that the risk of depending on too many 3rd party plugins was too high, expensive and hard to manage or extend. The requirements of this platform (speed and customer focused design) can only be achieved by having full control of the code and database. Development speed was not compromised thanks to the powerful abstractions provided out of the box in the chosen tech stack.
